In a separate building – the one with the view of the valley and the stream – you will find Dalsgaard Bed & Breakfast. Two cozy double rooms – the Rose Room and the Blue room, a large sitting room with a fireplace and a panorama window, as well as the bathroom shared by the two rooms.
The Rose Room is equipped with a double bed, and – as the name may suggest – in rose colours. It is a cozy and romantic room, oldfashioned and with low ceilings as in all houses from that time.
The room comes fully equipped with its own guardian angel. Everyone needs a guardian angel once in a while.
The Blue Room – decorated in blue shades – has two single beds. That’s the room to ask for, if you don’t want to share a bed with the one you are sharing a room with. The room is a bit larger than the rose room and has room for an extra bed for a child.
Last year we found ‘new’ furniture for this room – garden style? Colonial style? Or just comfy style?
The bathroom isn’t large. It is built in an old storage part of the building. The floor is heated.
The sitting room is quite special. Low ceilings as in the rest of the house, but with lots of light – and a fantastic view.
This is where breakfast is served and this is where you can sit in the evening, watch television, talk, or read. The old open fireplace has been rebuilt with a new wood stove, which is more than able to keep the cold outside where it belongs.
There is a kettle and free tea and coffee in the sitting room as well.
If you like, you can bring your dinner and eat it here – or you can order a pizza from a nearby pizzeria. After driving the whole day you might not be too enthusiastic about going out again to get something to eat.
If the weather is good you will probably prefer to sit outside on the terrace or in the garden.
Breakfast consists of three kinds of homebaked bread, homemade jam, local cheese, ham, cereals, organic milk and butter, juice, tea or coffee. If you leave here hungry it will be your own fault!
The basic idea is that this is a place
- to relax and unwind.
- to feel at home.
- to enjoy the quiet after hectic sightseeing during the day in Aarhus or energetic hiking in the Lake District – perhaps after climbing Himmelbjerget – ‘Sky Mountain’?
- to go back in time to when there was no traffic noise – or streetlights.
In short: Peace and quiet – close to the city attractions but deep in the countryside.
The prices are:
A double room including breakfast and including towels and bedlinen: DKK 650,00
A double as single room: DKK 550,00
Book in good time – as soon as possible. In the summer we are nearly always full. And in the winter I like to have time to heat up the house, find the flannel linen, fill the wood baskets, and light a fire before you arrive. In winter we only take bookings of both rooms or one room for two nights.

We look forward to showing you why we love our farm and our surroundings so much – and to share it with you.
